Lefty Drives 18/1 Return

Mickelson Defeats Watney in 'Duel at Doral 2'

Golf Betting System delivered fantastic profit at the WGC-CA Championship at Doral, Florida.  Tipster Steve Bamford delivered a 22 point profit on the event and that wasn't the end of the positive results.

Phil Mickelson delivered profit for GBS followers

Dehydrated Phil Mickelson won the CA Championship at Doral

Nick Watney was a highlighted pick in our CA Championship predictor, available 125/1 EW at Coral pre- event.  Kenny Perry featured highly in the predictor and his Top 10 finish was available at 5/1 (Bet 365) pre-event.  He was backed up by Justin Leonard whose T9 with Perry was a 8/1 shot again with our friends at Bet 365.  Quite simply it pays to follow Golf Betting System every week.

With plenty of focus on Tiger Woods making his first start in a full 72-hole strokeplay event since knee surgery and WGC Accenture Matchplay winner Geoff Ogilvy, Bamford preferred to go with Tiger's great rival Phil Mickelson among his selections.

He said: "When I see Mickelson at over 16-1 at a 'non major' event I like the value.  In 2007 at the AT&T National plus HSBC Champions tournaments and this season at Northern Trust he touched 16s and preceeded to win the tournie. Can play Doral and his game is back in-shape."

In what was a superb duel over the Blue Monster, a dehydrated Mickelson held off Nick Watney by a single stroke to triumph on a 19 under (269). Watney never faded and Mickelson had to use all of his experience to claim his 38th Pro victory and first World Golf Championship win.  Watney is now a real tournament contender and one to follow in 2009.

Course expert Jim Furyk who shot a final round 67, was the only other player in any kind of contention.  He missed a birdie putt on the 18th which would have placed him right into the mixer for the win , but the Florida resident had to settle for third place on 16 under (272)
