SB’s Mercedes Benz Tips:
Firstly a Happy New Year to all. With the UK economy in a similar state as the English Cricket team its good to know that we can all still make a few quid out of the bookies. Golf betting is becoming ever more popular with savvy punters, who know that the odds on offer are extremely attractive.By using Golfbettingsystem’s predictor model through out the 08 season I was amazed at the insight it gave to my golf betting and best of all its free! Spread the word……..
So the PGA Tour 09 starts at the Mercedes Benz Championship at Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii. It’s one of the PGA Tour’s prestige events and only features winners from the 2008 tour, so the field is of the highest quality. Course wise the The Plantation course at Kapalua, is the most undulating on the tour. It’s easy off the tee (3rd easiest track in 08 for finding the fairway) with wide fairways and also features massive undulating greens. The strong trade winds of the Pacific also make for huge variances in driving distance by each hole. Into the wind 250yds. With the wind and gradient on the 18th +400yds is very much achievable! Rookies to the course can struggle. Experience of the course’s nuances is a real advantage. So the variables I punched into the model focussed on, power hitting, scoring well plus breaking par by making birdies and eagles. Form from end of 08 is important + excellent putting as ever. My tips are below:
Vijay Singh 1pt E/W @ 6-1 Skybet. The best player in the world on current form. Last 5 years here read T12, 1, 2, T5, 2
Stewart Cink 1pt E/W @ 25-1 BlueSq. Great all round game. Top 5 in only previous Mercedes Benz.
Ryan Palmer 1pt E/W @ 80-1 Boylesports Real par breaker who makes birdies and has course experience in 05.
PW's Mercedes-Benz Tips:
You need to be good on the par 4s to stand a chance here, plus be able to make a shed-load of birdies (Chopra made 23 last year). In theory that points to Vijay however it all depends whether his 'best putter in the world' mind-trick is working this week...
My tips are:
Kenny Perry 1pt E/W @ 22-1 Paddy Power
Ryan Palmer 4pts Top-10 finish, 10-3 General
Good luck to you all!
